It’s official – I’m a Grandma!   Audrey & Josh had baby Noah Thomas yesterday at 10:15am and he’s adorable! Being a Grandma is going to be a blast………

Growing A Baby

Here’s the latest layout I completed of Audrey & Josh’s pregnancy — and as I speak, they are on their way to the hospital. They’re going to be parents in the next few hours!

New layout

I finally finished a layout! woohoo — this one uses Sarah Meyer’s Gummy Grins – Girly kit. I created a template scraplifted from one of imangel’s layouts for her crop on Saturday, Feb 10th.  I think this turned out really nice – such a pretty kit!

Dear Grandbaby

As many of you know, my “other” life is digiscrapping and I’m one of the administrators on Gotta Pixel. Well, Stacy Carlson created a fun kit called “Jungle Pals” and since Audrey and Josh are doing a Noah’s Ark theme for the baby’s room, I just had to use Stacy’s kit and scrap a little note to my future grandchild.

We’re Going to Europe!

The trip has been finalized and it’s marked on our calendar! Joel and I are taking a European vacation this summer! We leave June 4th from Des Moines, layover in Cincinnati for about 90 minutes and then off to London. I’ll be spending my birthday in Innsbruck, Austria this year. We’ll get back on the 19th. So exciting!

Christmas Cheer

I actually finished a 2-page layout recently — I don’t remember the last time I had time to do this! Keith’s reaction to his new guitar he received for Christmas was priceless and I just couldn’t resist scrapping the event.

Guitar Man

I don’t think I’ve ever had a Christmas with my kids as moving as 2006. All Keith wanted was a new guitar and to make a long story short, we fooled him into thinking he totally wasn’t getting it. His reaction was overwhelming and priceless and will stay with me the rest of my life – he was SO surprised!

Banjo Man

Yes, Joel is taking banjo lessons! Before Christmas 2005, he really got into the bluegrass sound (but don’t you dare say he likes “country” music, lol) and decided he’d like a banjo. After much discussion back and forth, and a smidge of skepticism on my part, he promised me he’d learn to play. Lo and behold, for 9 months after receiving his Christmas gift, he scoured the internet for banjo lessons, talked to his music teacher at school and learned from videos. I was amazed at what he was able to teach himself! Late in the summer of 2006 he decided he was ready for more structured lessons and we started the search for a banjo instructor. We found Paul Perkins, an Iowa State college student that plays in a band, Mr. Baber’s Neighbors, we went to the Johnston Bluegrass Festival to hear him and we knew instantly that this was the guy!

We’re having a baby!

Yep, that’s right – I’m going to be a grandma! Boy, does that sound weird…..but what sounds even weirder to me is that my mom is going to be a great-grandma! Ha, she must REALLY be old, lol!
